 Dear colleagues,
It is my great pleasure invite you to the 10 Biennial European ICSD Conference on “Social policy and social work - Action and interaction in the context of social development” that will be held in Warsaw, from 28th of June till 2nd of July 2006 at the Warsaw School of Social Psychology (Szkoła Wyższa Psychologii Społecznej).
The main conference-host and co-organizer will be the Warsaw School of Social Psychology; one of the leading academic institutions in Poland (www.swps.edu.pl) The School possesses modern-equipped lecture-rooms, an efficient, organized service and highly skilled and internationaly experienced staff. Academic staff consists of the most distinguished professors in psychology, sociology, political science and in other academic disciplines. The School has introduced new courses in public health and social work in the last period.The Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has promised to support our meeting, also the Polish Association of Social Workers, , the Polish Association of Schools of Social Work, and the Association of Social-Service-Managers “Forum” have declared its co-operation as the co-organizers. We are going to ask other crucial organizations such as the Polish Association of Social Policy,” and many others to join the conference. We can expect a broad participation from polish colleagues.
Warsaw is not only a capital city but also the old one with many important monuments, like the Royal Castle or the Old-City, with important museums and art-galleries with significant collections of sculptures and painters. There are a lot of charming and excellent restaurants and cafes and Polish food is considered some of the best in Europe. It is a booming city, with exciting places and interesting people from all over the world (www.e-warsaw.pl)
One great advantage of Warsaw is the good flight connections with the world – many so-called cheap-fly companies offer tickets to Warsaw (Ryan-Air, Centralwings, Germanwings and others).
